MARQUETTE (6-5, 1-2 BIG EAST)
- The Golden Eagles have lost their last two conference games after starting the season 6-3 with a win in their league opener against St. John's on March 29.
- MU fell in double overtime to then-No. 14 Georgetown on April 5 and suffered a 14-2 loss at Providence on April 12.
- The loss at PC was the second time this season that MU has been limited to two-or-fewer goals (MU lost 14-1 in the season opener at then-No. 15 Michigan).
- As a team, the Golden Eagles are fourth in the nation on man-up opportunities with a .560 success rate (14-of-25).
- MU is also 21st in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.541).
- Senior attackman Nolan Rappis is MU's point co-leader (23-13-36) and set a program single-game record with 10 points (five goals, five assists) in the win over Detroit Mercy on Feb. 8.
- Classmate Bobby O'Grady, MU's all-time leading scorer, has a team-best 24 goals and 36 points.
- Senior midfielder Will Foster is among MU's all-time leaders in goals, assists and total points. His 47 career assists are fourth in program history, while he is seventh in points (94) and 10th in goals (49). - MU's four-game winning streak from March 4-29 is the first since 2017.

Richard has been involved with all 170 games in program history as either a student-athlete (2013-16) or assistant coach (2017-24). During his playing career, he led MU to the program's first BIG EAST Conference title in 2016 and still ranks among MU's all-time leaders in games played (fourth, 61), ground balls (fourth, 193), and caused turnovers (sixth, 38).
- Richard is a native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, which lies just over 20 miles to the southwest of Villanova's campus.
- The Wildcats are the lone unbeaten team in BIG EAST play after narrow wins at then-No. 20 Denver in overtime and Providence in addition to a 10-7 home victory last Saturday over St. John's.
- VU owns non-conference triumphs over Brown, Drexel and then-No. 9 Yale at home on Feb. 15.
- Villanova enters the week eighth in the country in caused turnovers per game (10.36) and ninth in faceoff winning percentage (.590).
