Golden Eagles travel to Villanova Sunday
The Marquette University women's lacrosse team continued BIG EAST play Wednesday with a 23-10 loss to Denver at Valley Fields.
The Golden Eagles (8-4, 2-1 BIG EAST) were led by Meg Bireley, who netted six goals and had one assist. Bireley became the first BIG EAST player to hit 50 goals on the season.
Marquette led 7-4 after the first quarter before Denver went on a 10-0 run in the second to lead 14-7 at halftime.
Denver (8-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) was led by Olivia Ripple who had 10 goals.
