No. 15/14 Marquette Cruises Past Villanova, 91-55

Natisha Hiedeman's 24 points leads five Golden Eagles in double digits
VILLANOVA, Pa.—The first road game in a month did not phase the No. 15/14 Marquette women's basketball team as they cruised past Villanova with ease in a 91-55 win on Friday afternoon at the newly renovated Finneran Pavilion.
The 36-point margin of victory matched Marquette's (13-3, 4-0) BIG EAST scoring margin of +30.0 points heading into this game.
For the fifth time this season and fourth time in five games, Natisha Hiedeman totaled over 20 points as she led all scorers with 24 points, while Erika Davenport tallied her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 boards. Danielle King was a perfect 8-for-8 for 17 points, three assists and two steals with zero turnovers. Amani Wilborn and Selena Lott were also in double digits with 13 points apiece.
Villanova (10-5, 2-3) was led by Mary Gedaka and Kelly Jekot with 14 points and 13, respectively and the Golden Eagles held the Wildcats to just 39.7 percent shooting for the day.
Marquette scored 31 points off fast break baskets, while the Wildcats had zero fast break points. The Golden Eagles also forced 10 Villanova turnovers for 19 points, while committing a season0low four miscues of their own.
After a tight first quarter where MU held a narrow 21-19 advantage the Golden Eagles stormed to a 26-5 run in the second quarter and never looked back finishing the game shooting 50 percent (32-64) from the floor.
MU travels to Georgetown on Sunday, Jan. 13 and will take on the Hoyas at 1 p.m. CT live on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
