Golden Eagles host one more game before monthlong road swing
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's lacrosse team welcomes Detroit Mercy to Valley Fields on Sunday, Feb. 17 for a 1 p.m. Central time contest.Â
The game will air live on GoMarquette.com/watch and live stats are also available through the Marquette Athletics website.
Following Sunday's matchup, the Golden Eagles begin a monthlong road swing with Kennesaw State on Saturday, Feb. 23. First draw is set for Noon CT.

MARQUETTE (1-2): The Golden Eagles fell to Cincinnati in their first road contest of the season, 22-18. Graduate student Charlotte McGuire led Marquette with five goals, followed by Grace Gabriel and Shea Garcia with four tallies each. Marquette trailed the Bearcats by as many as nine and cut the deficit to just three with 11 minutes remaining, but the late rally was not enough.Â
Cate Soccodato's six assists on Friday also propelled her past the 100-point plateau, the eighth Marquette player to reach the mark.
DETROIT MERCY (0-1): The Titans are coming off of a 19-5 loss against Ohio State in its lone game of the season. Lexie Kinmond led Detroit Mercy with two goals and one assist, while Morgan Girardi added in a pair of scores as well. Kaitlyn Wandelt won six draw controls for 163 in her career, setting a program record. Â
SERIES HISTORY
The Golden Eagles lead the series history 4-0. It's been nearly two years since their last meeting, but Marquette last defeated the Titans 14-5 on March 6, 2016.
