Josh Robinson and Bhoom Sima-Aree shot a 2-over 73 on Sunday in Dallas

DALLAS – Freshmen Josh Robinson and Bhoom Sima-Aree are tied with junior Hunter Eichhorn atop Marquette's lineup following the first day of play at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas.
The trio shot 2-over 73 and it was Robinson who closed his final six holes at 2-under par, carding a team-high four birdies on the day. The native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland played as Marquette's No. 5 and started his round alternating birdies and pars over the first four holes.
Eichhorn, Robinson and Sima-Aree are tied for 37th overall and the Golden Eagles (9-over 293) sit 12th as a team entering Monday's second round.
Sima-Aree was 1-over through the front nine before notching three birdies and four bogeys after making the turn.
Eichhorn, the medalist at last weekend's Windon Memorial Classic, sat at even par before posting bogeys on holes 16 and 17. And sophomore Tyler Leach was 1-under par through 14 holes but posted double bogeys on 15 and 18 to end his day with a 3-over 74.
Tournament-host Southern Methodist University and Arizona State lead the field at 5-under par (279).
The par-71 championship course at Trinity Hills Golf Club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, plays at 7,486 yards and is the home of the PGA Tour's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship.
THE EVENT
The 16-team field features Arizona State, Houston, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Rice and Virginia in addition to tournament-host SMU and Marquette.
