Eichhorn 17th and golf finishes seventh at Trinity Forest

Eichhorn jumped 17 spots with a 6-under 65 and MU moved up four slots
DALLAS – The Marquette University men's golf team finished its final round in the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in seventh place with a 4-over-par 856 (293-283-280) after 54 holes at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.
Junior Hunter Eichhorn recorded seven birdies on the day and tied the lowest round of his career with a 6-under 65. Starting his day on No. 10, Eichhorn birdied 11, 13 and 14 and notched a total of seven before closing his round with a bogey on No. 8. Houston's Logan Young and College of Charleston's Michael Sass also tied for Tuesday's low round and Eichhorn moved into a tie for 17th at 2-under for the tournament (73-73-65—211).
Eichhorn moved up 17 spots on the individual leaderboard on Tuesday, while the Golden Eagles jumped up four spots from the tie for 11th they found themselves in on Monday evening.
Sophomore Tyler Leach, who carded seven birdies on Monday, posted five on Tuesday and played an even-par 71 despite a double bogey on No. 14. Leach (74-69-71—214) finished tied for 33rd with teammate Josh Robinson (77-69-72—214) at 1-over for the tournament.
Arizona State won the event at 30 strokes under par to set a new tournament record, paced by Alex del Rey's record score of 16-under par as the medalist.
The par-71 course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, plays at 7,486 yards and is the home of the PGA Tour's AT&T Byron Nelson Championship.
