The Golden Eagles opened the 2020-21 campaign on Wednesday at Fiserv Forum
Senior big man Theo John put on an early display for the Golden Eagles (1-0), notching a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five blocks. Freshman forward Dawson Garcia paced the squad in scoring with 19 points, while Jamal Cain added 16.
Koby McEwen (12), Greg Elliott (10) and Justin Lewis (10) also reached double figures in a balanced offensive attack that was sharing the ball. Defensively, MU limited the Golden Lions to just 18.9% shooting in the first half and 27.3% for the game.
Shaun Doss Jr. scored 27 for UAPB to lead all scorers.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, Nov. 27 at Fiserv Forum against Eastern Illinois. The contest will air live on FS1 with a 6:30 p.m. Central time tip in Milwaukee.
