
Golden Eagles Back in Action Sunday at Georgetown

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT on the BIG EAST Digital Network
WASHINGTON D.C. — The Marquette women's basketball team will play their final road game of the regular season as they take on Georgetown on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. CT.
The game will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Jeremy Huber and Eric Thibault on the call from McDonough Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles (20-7, 11-5) suffered a tough loss on Friday at Villanova, 61-47. Marquette had two players in double figures as Selena Lott finished with 13 point and Camryn Taylor added 11. Freshman Taylor Valladay collected a career-high six rebounds in just five minutes of play.
Lott leads the squad with 14.6 points per game, while Lauren Van Kleunen and Isabelle Spingola are also averaging double digits at 10.9 and 10.8, respectively. In league-only games, Taylor is also in double figures with 10.1 points per contest in BIG EAST games.
As a team, MU ranks first in the BIG EAST and eighth in the country in rebounding margin, averaging +9.8 this season. They also rank second in the conference and ninth in the country in assists per game, handing out an average of 18.1 with Lott leading the way individually dishing out 5.8 helpers each night.
UP NEXT: Marquette returns home on Sunday, March 1 to host DePaul for the final regular season game as seniors Altia Anderson and Spingola will be honored in a pre-game ceremony. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT on FS2.

GEORGETOWN (5-21, 2-13): The Hoyas are coming off a loss to DePaul Friday evening, falling 87-69 at home. Taylor Barnes finished with a team-high 13 points while Tayanna Jones grabbed 12 rebounds. Barnes leads Georgetown in scoring this season, averaging 12.4 points per game. Senior forward Anita Kelava ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in rebounding, grabbing an average of 7.6.

Sunday is the 24th meeting between MU and Georgetown. The Golden Eagles lead the series 19-4 and have won five straight, including a 73-51 victory in Milwaukee in the first game this season.
