The Marquette University men's basketball team (8-6, 4-4 BIG EAST) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. when the squad hosts DePaul (2-5, 0-5 BIG EAST) at Fiserv Forum in BIG EAST Conference action.  FS1 will feature the television broadcast, with Eric Collins (play-by-play) and Nick Bahe (analyst) calling the action.  Following Saturday's outing, the Golden Eagles will travel to Providence on Jan. 27 to complete the season's home-and-home series.Â
Series With DePaul Dates Back To 1917-18
  Â
Marquette's all-time series with DePaul dates back to the 1917-18 season (second year of MU's varsity competition) and includes 127 previous meetings.
  Â
The Golden Eagles own a 79-48 advantage in the series and have claimed eight of the last 10 matchups, with the two teams splitting the home-and-home series in 2019-20. Â The extensive series history has been aided by the fact the two programs have been in the same league dating back to the 1991-92 campaign. Â Since that season, the teams have shared affiliation in the Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and BIG EAST Conference.
  Â
In program history, Marquette has faced only rival Wisconsin (127) on as many occasions. Â
Elliott, Lewis Provide Lift In Latest Win
  Â
The Golden Eagles sent just eight players to the court in the win at St. John's on Jan. 16, but the small group of reserves was able to make a big impact on the outcome.
  Â
Guard Greg Elliott and forward Justin Lewis led the way, combining for 26 points, 11 rebounds and three assists off the bench. Â The duo shot 9-of-14 from the floor and Elliott knocked down a pair of treys en route to 13 points (one short of career high set at Creighton in league opener).Â
  Â
Lewis scored double figures in back-to-back games for the first time since the first two games of the season, averaging 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per outing in wins over Providence and St. John's.
