SUGAR GROVE, Illinois – Marquette University graduate student Hunter Eichhorn is tied for the lead at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate through 36 holes after shooting a 3-under 69 in Sunday's second round.
Eichhorn posted five birdies and a pair of bogeys in the second round, with four of the birdies coming on the final 10 holes after back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 5 and 6. Eichhorn also shot a 69 on Saturday with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 11th. He's tied with Missouri's Jack Parker at 6-under-par and is in search of the sixth tournament win of his Marquette career.
As a team, the Golden Eagles fell down the leaderboard with a 7-over 295 on Sunday and now sit in a tie for eighth with Minnesota at 1-over. MU was tied for second with a 6-under-par 282 after the first round of action
Freshman Max Lyons, who shot even par on Saturday, turned in a 1-over 73 on Sunday, but was three under with four birdies when making the turn. He's MU's No. 2 golfer in a tie for 24th at 1-over (72-73--145).
Missouri posted a tournament-best 6-under 282 and leads the field by three strokes at 10-under (284-282--566). The Tigers started the day in fourth place.
Monday's third round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.Â
