Baird 'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete: Leigh Steiner

Steiner will join the Real Estate Asset Program at Marquette in the spring
MILWAUKEE - Women's lacrosse player Leigh Steiner is the Baird Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2021, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff. Steiner is a junior who majors in finance and real estate in the College of Business Administration, with a minor in Spanish. She recently applied for, and was accepted to the brand new REAP Program (Real Estate Asset Program), as part of their inaugural cohort when the program launches in Spring 2022.
REAP participants will gain real-world experience in investment sourcing, underwriting, closing, management, and investor reporting. Participants will make investment recommendations to the investment committee based on their analysis. Working with the REAP program director and investment committee as well as industry professionals, REAP students will apply their classroom training to make equity investment recommendations in actual real estate and then manage the ongoing investor reporting on behalf of investors. This program is the newest hallmark of the acclaimed College of Business Administration, and Leigh is the first student-athlete selected to it.
In addition, Steiner has earned Dean's List, AD Honor Roll and BIG EAST All-Academic honors every semester at Marquette. She is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma (student-athlete honor society), is involved in the MAGIS Mentor program, and the LEAD leadership development program.
Steiner played in all 16 games and started eight contests as a redshirt freshman in the spring of 2021. She posted 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points in her first year of action
