Freshman Dawson Garcia nets career high in points
The Marquette University men's basketball team (9-11, 5-9 BIG EAST) dropped a 96-64 decision at No. 5/4 Villanova (13-2, 8-1 BIG EAST) Wednesday night in BIG EAST Conference action from The Pavilion.
Freshman forward Dawson Garcia scored 14 of his career-high 28 points in the first half and guard D.J. Carton added 13 points.
Marquette shot 46.0 percent from the field as a team, but the Wildcats knocked down over 60 percent of their opportunities and scored 30 points off MU miscues.
The Golden Eagles continue their five-game road swing at Seton Hall at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 14 on FS1 and ESPN Milwaukee.
