Marquette hits the road for first time in 2021
The Marquette University women's soccer team (1-1-0) hits the road for the first time in 2021 with a two-match swing through the state of Utah.
The Golden Eagles will face BYU at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 2 before traveling to Utah State for a 1 p.m. CT match on Sunday, Sept. 5.
MU Returns To Site Of 2012 NCAAs
The Golden Eagles and Cougars have a limited all-time series, but it includes a memorable outing for Marquette fans.
MU last made a trip to South Field for the third round of the 2012 NCAA Championship, which was decided in penalty kicks after a scoreless regulation. BYU advanced in the tourney with a 6-5 shootout victory.
The 2012 squad was one of the best in program history, finishing 18-2-3 overall and 9-0-1 in the BIG EAST. The team claimed a BIG EAST division and tournament title and advanced to the Round of 16 for the third time in program history.
Marquette has only faced Utah State on one occasion, a 5-0 setback in Milwaukee in 2019.
