Series With DePaul Spans Program History
  Â
Marquette's all-time series with DePaul dates back to the 1917-18 season (second year of MU's varsity competition) and includes 129 previous meetings, the highest total against any single opponent in program history.
  Â
The Golden Eagles own an 80-49 advantage in the series and have claimed seven of the last 10 matchups, most recently splitting the season series in 2020-21. Â The extensive series history has been aided by the fact the two programs have been in the same league dating back to the 1991-92 campaign. Â Since that season, the teams have shared affiliation in the Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and BIG EAST.
Marquette Pulls Away For Win At GeorgetownÂ
  Â
Marquette used a 17-0 run (MU led 47-44 to begin run) early in the second half in a span of just over three minutes to pull away for a 92-64 win at Georgetown Friday night.Â
  Â
The 28-point winning margin is the largest ever on the road in BIG EAST regular season play (joined league in 2005-06) and the biggest in league action since the 1996-97 season. Â That year, MU claimed a 71-36 decision at USF on Jan. 30, 1997 in Conference USA action.
  Â
The Golden Eagles led by as many as 19 points in the first half at Georgetown, saw the Hoyas close to within three, but were able to pull away again thanks to 62.5 percent shooting from the floor in the second half.
  Â
The 1996-97 team claimed the C-USA tournament title with four wins in four days, the only team in program history to claim a conference tourney crown.
Jones Earns First BIG EAST HonorÂ
  Â
Marquette's Kam Jones has been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning.
  Â
Jones helped the Golden Eagles in win over No. 16/17 Providence with 14 points off the bench. In a pair of wins, which included a 92-64 triumph at Georgetown, he shot 52.8 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from 3-point range.
