Golden Eagles host St. John's March 5 on Senior Night
The Marquette University men's basketball team (18-11, 10-8 BIG EAST) dropped a 91-80 decision against DePaul (15-14, 6-13 BIG EAST) Wednesday night on the road in Wintrust Arena.
Forward Justin Lewis led the way with 26 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. Guard Darryl Morsell added 12 points in the loss.
The Golden Eagles moved ahead by seven points early in the second half, but DePaul was able to take control after an 18-2 run and quickly led by 13 points with 11:22 left. Marquette trailed by as many as 18 points.
Marquette led 37-33 at the intermission after shooting 53.3 percent from the floor. Lewis had 12 points and Morsell chipped in nine points. The Golden Eagles battled foul trouble and turnovers in the opening 20 minutes, but were still able to own the advantage at the half. Morsell, Kur Kuath and Tyler Kolek were all limited after picking up two fouls. MU also turned the ball over nine times.

Notables:
- Marquette must win Saturday's regular-season finale against St. John's to earn the No. 5 seed in the BIG EAST tourney and a first-round bye. MU would play No. 4 Creighton if it wins.
- Forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper return to the starting lineup, replacing guard Kam Jones, who started the team's last outing against Butler. Prosper has started 23-of-29 games this season
- Justin Lewis was the only Marquette player to make a 3-pointer until Darryl Morsell knocked one down with just under 12 minutes remaining in the second half.
- Justin Lewis' sixth double-double of the season was his first since finishing with 20 points and 13 boards against Xavier on Jan. 23
- Guard Stevie Mitchell finished with 12 points, his most since scoring 11 points Northern Illinois on Nov. 27.
