MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's lacrosse team defeated Detroit Mercy, 13-7, at Valley Fields on Saturday afternoon in the third game of its four-game homestand.
Bobby O'Grady paced the Golden Eagles (2-3) with four goals, while fellow freshman Will Foster earned his first career hat trick. Michael Allieri stopped six shots between the pipes for Marquette, with Luke Williams (9-for-15) and Thomas Washington (4-for-7) dominating the faceoffs.
For Detroit Mercy (0-4), Will Edell led with three goals, and four other players added a goal. Netminder Jakob Hemme made 15 saves, and Paul Januszak put up seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.

- Marquette continues its dominance all-time against the Titans, owning an 8-1 overall edge over the Jesuit rival. The Golden Eagles and UDM first met in 2013, the first home game in MU lacrosse history.

- With Devon Cowan and Russell Melendez both ruled out, freshmen Nolan Rappis and Will Foster both slotted into the starting lineup.
- Marquette went on a 7-0 run in the second quarter behind four goals from O'Grady and two in transition for Foster.
- Twelve players appeared in the scoring column for Marquette, with six Golden Eagles posting an assist in the contest.
- Sophomore midfielder Pierce Washburn fired in two goals and added an assist on the afternoon.
