MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team closes its regular season on April 18-19 in Villanova, Pennsylvania, for the Wildcat Spring Invitational at Radnor Valley Country Club.
Â
THE EVENT
Marquette is in a 15-team field alongside Binghamton, Bucknell, Colgate, Delaware, Lafayette, La Salle, Lehigh, Long Island, Rhode Island, Rider, St. Joe's, St. John's, William & Mary and tournament-host Villanova.
Â
The first round is set to begin on April 18 at 7 a.m. Central time.
Â
THE COURSE
Designed by Dick Wilson, the 18-hole, par-70 course plays at 6,572 yards and features Bent grass, considerable elevation changes, challenging greens and a variety of water hazards.
Â
Radnor Valley offers an abundance of rolling terrain and part of the course sits in what was once the projected path of Interstate-476, which opened more than 20 years after the course's inception.
Â
The back nine features a number of water hazards, and precision is vital, as each fairway is littered with vegetation along the edges. While the long ball is not always necessary, Radnor Valley does have six par-fours that span over 400 yards in length.
