Lyons and Adler both under par on Monday at Badger Invitational

VERONA, Wisconsin – Marquette University juniors Max Lyons and Patrick Adler each shot under par in Monday's second round at University Ridge Golf Course in the 2023 Badger Invitational.

Lyons carded a 2-under 70 with a team-best six birdies on Monday, but the course's five par-threes were a mixed bag. Lyons bogeyed both par-threes on the backside and recorded three birdies on the front after making the turn on No. 1.

Adler shot a 1-under 71, which included three birdies to jump 11 spots up the individual leaderboard.

Graduate student Bhoom Sima-Aree still leads the Marquette contingent at 1-under (69-74—143) in a tie for 20th place. He had a team-best five birdies on Sunday and was tied for sixth after the opening round.

Josh Robinson (T-36) sits one stroke in front of Lyons at 1-over (70-75—145) for the tournament.

As a team, the Golden Eagles jumped three spots on Monday and are ninth out of 18 teams with a combined 5-over 581 (291-290). Tuesday's final round is set to begin at 9 a.m. Central time in a shotgun start.

Freshman Mason Schmidtke tied for second in the Badger Invitational Individual event at TPC Wisconsin on Monday after shooting a 1-over 72. He was tied for the event lead entering the final round and posted a career-low 212 (73-67-72) in the 54-hole event. TPC Wisconsin is the future site of the PGA Tour's American Family Insurance Championship and was formerly known as Cherokee Country Club before it was rebranded in 2022.
