Adler cards 3-under 69 on final day of Badger Invitational

VERONA, Wisconsin – Patrick Adler, Bhoom Sima-Aree and Max Lyons of the Marquette University men's golf team each shot under par in Tuesday's third and final round of the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course.

The Golden Eagles placed seventh as a team at even-par (291-290-283—864) for the event, while FGCU captured the event title with a 13-under 851.

Marquette combined to turn in a 5-under 283 on Tuesday with Adler leading the way at 3-under 69. He notched a team-high five birdies and carded consecutive rounds under par to close out the tournament.

Adler jumped a total of 22 spots up the individual leaderboard over the final 18 holes, while Sima-Aree and Lyons each had upward movement with 1-under 71s. Lyons was tied with Adler at the conclusion of Sunday's opening round in 63rd place with a 4-over 76, but ended the 54-hole event in a tie for 35th with graduate student Josh Robinson at 1-over.

Sima-Aree finished a team-best 17th with a 2-under 214, which included a 3-under 69 on Sunday.

This week was just the second time in Adler's career that he's ended a 54-hole event at par-or-better and the first time he has done so as a member of the MU lineup.

Freshman Mason Schmidtke tied for second in the Badger Invitational Individual event at TPC Wisconsin on Monday after shooting a 1-over 72. He was tied for the event lead entering the final round and posted a career-low 212 (73-67-72) in the 54-hole event. TPC Wisconsin is the future site of the PGA Tour's American Family Insurance Championship and was formerly known as Cherokee Country Club before it was rebranded in 2022.
