MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team continues its fall season on Sunday, Oct. 1 through Tuesday, Oct. 3 at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wisconsin for the 2023 Badger Invitational.
Live scoring for the tournament, and this weekend's Badger Individual at TPC Wisconsin, is available through LeaderboardKing.com.
Following the Badger Invitational, the Golden Eagles have one final event this fall on Oct. 16-17 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational in Kettering, Ohio at NCR Country Club.
THE EVENT
The Golden Eagles opened their season last fall in the Badger Invitational, their first time in the event since the 2018-19 campaign.
The 18-team field includes Ball State, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Eastern Michigan, Florida Gulf State, Illinois State, Long Beach State, Loyola of Chicago, Maryland, MTSU, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, South Dakota State, VCU, Western Carolina and tournament-host Wisconsin.Â
The event consists of 54 holes with 18 played each day, beginning Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and concluding Tuesday afternoon.
Tee times for the first two rounds of the Badger Invitational will begin at 9:30 a.m. with groups heading off the first and 10th tees. The Golden Eagles are paired with Wisconsin and FGCU in the first round and will begin off the first tee at 10:20 a.m. Central time.
Tuesday's final round features a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT.

THE COURSE
Golf Digest ranks University Ridge Golf Course as the No. 14 course in the state of Wisconsin. The course's signature holes are the 16th and 18th. The former is a 554-yard par five featuring three fairways and 12 bunkers. The final hole is a 443-yard par-four going uphill 182 feet between the woodland and prairie.
The course will play as a par 72 at a total of 7,286 yards.

The Golden Eagles finished ninth out of 15 teams this past week at the Windon Memorial Classic at Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, Illinois.

Graduate student Aidan Lafferty led the way for the Golden Eagles, firing a 2-under 69 on Tuesday to place in a tie for 19th with a personal-best 54 hole score of a 5-under 208 (70-69-69). The Downers Grove, Illinois native continued his early season ascent for the Golden Eagles, which has seen him jump up the lineup with three top-two team finishes over the season's first three events. He has now shot under par in each of his last four rounds and his 71.56 scoring average this season is tied with Max Lyons for the team lead.
The Golden Eagles finished ahead of regional competitors Minnesota, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Michigan State at the event.Â
Lyons retains his No. 1 spot in the lineup despite a fourth-place team finish in the Windon Memorial. He carded a team-best 3-under 68 in the opening round but was over par in his final two rounds at Sunset Ridge.
Bhoom Sima-Aree and Josh Robinson each shot a 4-under 67 in Monday's second round, the lowest scores for an MU player at the event. Sima-Aree finished tied for 24th at 4-under par, while Robinson tied for 29th at 3-under.
Sophomore Will Hemauer and freshmen Ryan Banas and Mason Schmidtke will compete at a separate individual event at TPC Wisconsin in Madison, the future site of the PGA Tour's American Family Insurance Championship in 2025 and beyond. TPC Wisconsin was formerly known as Cherokee Country Club before it was rebranded in 2022. The Badger Individual features 36 holes on Sunday, Oct. 1 and the final round on Monday, Oct. 2.
