Golden Eagles host nationally ranked Creighton Dec. 30
MILWAUKEE – The No. 6/6 Marquette men's basketball team dominated Georgetown on Friday, 81-51, in the BIG EAST home opener at Fiserv Forum.
The Golden Eagles (10-3, 1-1 BIG EAST) had three in double figures led by David Joplin, who had a season-high 20 points. Senior Oso Ighodaro and Tyler Kolek had 13 apiece.
After a shaky start, Marquette got its first lead at the 10:50 mark of the first half with an Oso Ighodaro jumper to make it 15-13. Another bucket by Ighodaro sparked a 26-6 run that lasted over seven minutes.
An 11-0 run near the start of the second half blew the game open with MU stretching the lead to 25. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 38 in the second half.
Georgetown (7-6, 0-2 BIG EAST) was led by Jayden Epps who had 14 points.

- Marquette guard Stevie Mitchell (hamstring) missed his fourth straight game. Chase Ross made his fourth career start.
