Golf Tied for Second at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Marquette University men's golf team concluded the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club. The Golden Eagles are tied for second at 9-under par (287-280--567) after 36 holes.

In the second round, all five members of MU's lineup finished even par or better on the day for a team score of 8-under.

Senior Josh Robinson extends his streak of sub-par rounds to five with a 5-under par 67. Robinson got to work early with back-to-back birdies to start the day. He would drop five more birdies with two bogeys to tie his career-low single-round score. Robinson is tied for third place at 7-under.

Nicolás Evangelio shot a 2-under par 70 in his second round. Evangelio rolled in three birdies and remained bogey-free until his final hole, the par-4 No. 18, where he surrendered his first bogey. Evangelio is in 11th place after 36 holes.

Bhoom Sima-Aree finished his day 1-under par (71). Sima-Aree's round was highlighted with eagles on the par. 5 No. 11 and the par-5 14th. He gave two of those strokes right back with a double bogey on No. 15. After a bogey on hole 18 and a double on No. 1, Sima-Aree birdied his final hole to get back under par for the round.

Patrick Adler and Max Lyons turned in even par rounds on day two. After bogeys on Nos. 8 and 9, Lyons got those strokes back with birdies on Nos. 10 and 11. Lyons would par out to stay even for the tournament.

Through seven holes, Adler was 1-over par until he ripped off five straight birdies from holes 10 to 14. Adler would give some of those strokes back with a triple bogey on No. 16 and a double on No. 1. Adler finished strong with a birdie on his final hole to get back to even.

Wright State holds a one-stroke lead at 10-under par (291-275—566). The final round from Palm Valley G.C. begins at 8:45 a.m. CT. Track live scoring through Golfstat.
