
Golf Heads to Auburn for NCAA Regional

Round one Begins Monday, May 15
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team heads to Auburn, Alabama for the NCAA Regional at Auburn University Club.
THE EVENT
The Golden Eagles earned a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Auburn Regional after winning the BIG EAST Championship to earn an automatic bid into the regional. This is MU's fifth regional appearance and first as a team since 2019.
The field at the Auburn Regional is comprised of 13 teams and 10 individuals. The other teams joining MU are Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, Colorado State, Ohio State, Washington, TCU, Chattanooga, Houston, Indiana, Augusta University and Siena.
First round tee times will begin at 8Â a.m. CT on Monday, May 15 with groups going off holes Nos. 1 and 10. The first MU tee time will begin at 9:25 a.m. CT on hole No. 10.

THE COURSE
The home course of the Auburn Tigers, Auburn University Club stretches 7,591 yards and plays as a par 72. Designed by former Auburn golfer Bill Bergin, the course is set against a backdrop of trees, wetlands, creeks and streams. The natural water features of the course provide a challenge to its players.
The course was renovated by Bergin in 2022 with new Tift Eagle greens, 12 new tee boxes and 12 additional bunkers.
THE LINEUP
Nos. 1-5: Â Nicolás Evangelio, Max Lyons, Tyler Leach, Bhoom Sima-Aree, Josh Robinson
MU heads to the NCAA Regional coming off back-to-back tournament victories at the Redhawk Intercollegiate and BIG EAST Championship.
Four Golden Eagles earned all-conference honors, while the MU coaching staff was named the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year after claiming the program's fifth league title.
MU's No. 4, Bhoom Sima-Aree shot a 3-under 213 (73-68-72) to earn co-medalist honors at the BIG EAST Championships for his first collegiate victory. Sima-Aree was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team and the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Nicolás Evangelio and Max Lyons were named to the All-BIG EAST First Team. Evangelio and Lyons were the top two on MU in scoring average with averages of 72.22 and 72.38, respectively. Evangelio and Lyons were both the top finisher for MU in four events this season.
Tyler Leach earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors along with Sima-Aree. Leach was MU's top finisher in two events and posted a scoring average of 72.47, third best on the team.
Josh Robinson enters the Auburn Regional as MU's No. 5. Robinson finished the regular season with a career-best scoring average of 73.16.
Aidan Lafferty will be the team's alternate in the regional.
