Golden Eagles close away portion of regular season at DePaul
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team (6-5-3, 2-2-1 BIG EAST) will travel to DePaul (5-6-2, 1-3-1 BIG EAST) Wednesday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. CT at Wish Field, in Chicago, Illinois.
MU will close out its regular season with a two-match homestand starting with hosting the Akron Zips on Saturday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Valley Fields.
MU Battles In Scoreless Draw At Xavier
Saturday evenings matchup began physical with five combined yellow cards and one red card in the first half.
In the 27th minute Matthew Iriarte was allotted a red card after being booked for his second yellow card of the match. The red card against the Golden Eagles resulted in MU playing with 10 players for the remainder of the match.
Xavier finished the first half with nine shots to Marquette's two. Both of MU's shots were on goal while Xavier only registered one shot on goal out of its nine.
Closing the physical battle of a first half, both teams finished the half with seven fouls.
In a back and forth second half, both teams had quality chances on goal but were unable to find the back of the net.
Marten Brink notched his fifth shutout after facing 18 shots and tallying four saves.

Wednesday's match will be the 40th meeting between Marquette and DePaul in program history.
In a series that dates back to the 1982 season, Marquette holds a 30-7-2 advantage over the Blue Demons in all-time history. The last matchup between the two programs resulted in a 3-3 draw in Milwaukee. Â
Saturday's contest against Akron will be the 15th meeting between the two programs. The first meeting came in 1980 when the Zips took a 5-1 win over the Golden Eagles.
Akron controls the series history with a 8-1-5 advantage over MU. The last meeting resulted in a 1-1 draw in Akron.
