
MSOC Earns 2-2 Draw At DePaul

Golden Eagles back in action at Valley Fields vs Akron on Saturday
CHICAGO, Illinois - The Marquette University men's soccer team (6-5-4, 2-2-2 BIG EAST) earned a 2-2 draw at DePaul (5-6-3, 1-3-2 BIG EAST) Wednesday afternoon at Wish Field.
The Golden Eagles started the match applying pressure to DePaul's backline. In the eighth minute Donovan Jones netted his first career goal by way of a header coming off of a corner kick assist from Ryan Amond.
In the 17th minute DePaul found the back of the net after an unassisted strike from just outside of the box, knotting the score at 1-1.
The second half started with physical play on both sides, with both teams being called for fouls.
In the 63rd minute Grant Locker found the back of the net after a rebound on a free kick by Marquette to give MU a 2-1 advantage.
In the 65th minute defender Kyle Bebej was issued his second yellow card of the match resulting in a red card. The Golden Eagles were forced to play the remainder of the match with 10 players on the field.
In the 82nd minute of play the Blue Demons tied the score at 2-2 after a corner kick, where DePaul tried to find a header, but the ball found the foot of a DePaul's forward who sent it in.
