Duffy Earns 150th win as a head coach
CHICAGO – The Marquette women's basketball team held on to beat DePaul 69-58 on Tuesday night at Wintrust Arena. Megan Duffy earned her 150th career win as a head coach.
Mackenzie Hare led the team in scoring for the sixth time this season with a game-high 19 points and a pair of 3's. The Naperville, Illinois native had a season-high tying three steals.
Liza Karlen had her seventh double-double of the season and fourth in the last six games with 16 points and 12 rebounds. The senior forward also added four steals and three blocks on the defensive end.
Jordan King stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Fellow senior Rose Nkumu had nine points, five assists and four rebounds.
The Golden Eagles held DePaul to just seven points in the first, but the Blue Demons cut the deficit to five with a 9-0 run to end the first half.
Marquette started the third quarter on an 11-0 run and outscored DePaul 26-12 in the frame to lead by 19 heading into the fourth. DePaul stormed back to get it back to single digits, but the Golden Eagles got defensive stops and hit free throws down the stretch to win and complete the season sweep.
DePaul (12-15, 4-10 BIG EAST) was led by Jorie Allen who had 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Leading scorer Anaya Peoples (18.0 points per game) was held to just nine points.

- Eighth regular season sweep of DePaul in program history. The Blue Demons are Marquette's most played opponent with the series dating back to the 1978-79 season.
- Jordan King is now tied for second with Chloe Marotta in career games played at MU with 149. King has started in every game in her MU career, and her 149 career games is fifth among active NCAA players.
- Marquette held DePaul to just seven points in the first quarter, the fifth time this MU held its opponent in single digits through the first 10.
- Liza Karlen moved into 26th on the all-time scoring list with 1,181 career points. The senior forward passed Beth Ayers, who had 1,176 points from 1983-87.
- Rose Nkumu had five assists, her 13th game this season with 5-or-more assists. The senior guard is 11th in the nation and first in the BIG EAST with a 2.92 assist-to-turnover ratio.
