ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Georgia – Graduate student Josh Robinson fired a final round 6-under 66 on Tuesday at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island to tie the lowest round of his NCAA career.
Robinson jumped 37 spots up the individual leaderboard on Monday to help the Golden Eagles jump Penn State and Kansas State on the team ledger. The native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland began his day with an eagle on the par-4 10th hole, in addition to five birdies to close his round after a lone blemish on the 11th with a bogey.
Robinson entered the day in a tie for 63rd after opening rounds of 75 and 74 on Monday. He tied for 27th overall at a 1-under 215 with teammate Max Lyons, who posted the event's highlight for MU with a hole-in-one on the 10th hole in Monday's first round.
Lyons led the MU contingent through 36 holes with an even-par 144 (70-74) in a tie for 24th place heading into Tuesday, and carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday with four birdies against three bogeys.
Robinson's final round 66 ties his lowest mark this season after notching the same total in the opening round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Oct. 16 at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. He helped MU to a team title at the event and tied for second with a 6-under 207.
The Johnnie-O at Sea Island is in its second year in 2024 and is hosted by MU's former BIG EAST Conference counterpart, Rutgers University. Notre Dame won the event this year at 32-under par.

THE COURSE
Inspired by the tradition profile of Walter Travis' 1928 original nine-hole course, the Plantation Course was completely redesigned by Davis and Mark Love of Love Golf Design in 2019. The course design brings back some traditional features and character: bulkheads, railroad ties, the Principal's Nose on No. 10 green and a punch bowl green on No. 13. It is the home of the PGA Tour's RSM Classic, a FedEx Cup event hosted by Love.Â
