MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's golf team travels to Awendaw, South Carolina to participate in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on March 24-26.
THE EVENT
The Hootie is hosted at Bulls Bay Golf Club in the greater Charleston area and features some of the nation's top men's golf programs. The tournament gets underway on Sunday at 8 a.m. Central time on both the front and back nine. The second round is slated for Monday and the third on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles are paired with South Carolina and Missouri for Sunday's opening round and begin the day at 8 a.m. CT on No. 1.Â

Marquette last competed in the event during the spring of 2021 and finished 13th. Then-junior Hunter Eichhorn led the MU contingent in a tie for fifth with a 6-under 210 (70-68-72) for the event.
THE COURSE
Amid windswept savannahs and centuries old live oaks lies a course that entwines the ultimate in atmosphere and course design. In the tradition of MacKenzie, Mike Strantz created an extraordinary layout that thrills each and every round. Bulls Bay offers the premier club experience in all the Lowcountry and is situated minutes from downtown Charleston.
MARQUETTE'S LINEUP
1. Max Lyons
2. Josh Robinson
3. Aidan Lafferty
4. Mason Schmidtke
5. Will Hemauer
Max Lyons and Josh Robinson posted identical scores of a 1-under 215 in Marquette's last event on March 11-12 at The Johnnie-O at Sea Island Invitational in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The event included a hole-in-one albatross for Lyons on the par-4 10th during his opening round, while Robinson carded the lowest 18-hole mark of his NCAA career with a 6-under 66 in the final round of competition. Robinson rose 37 spots up the individual leaderboard on the final day with his 10th par-or-better round of the year.
Sophomore Will Hemauer will make his MU lineup debut this weekend after tying for 12th at The Johnnie-O Individual last weekend at Sea Palms. The Marquette University High School graduate has competed eight times this season as an individual but has never been part of MU's five-man lineup. Outside of an 11-over 82 in the final round of the Windon Memorial Classic during the fall, Hemauer has been consistently within a couple strokes of par and should add some certaintly to the back end of the MU lineup.
Lyons leads the Golden Eagles with a 71.33 stroke average, while Robinson slots in behind Lyons and the injured Bhoom Sima-Aree with a 72.00 stroke mark.
