Golf is 14th Through 36 Holes at The Hootie

AWENDAW, South Carolina – The Marquette University men's golf team is 14th through two rounds of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina.

Graduate student Josh Robinson posted the squad's low round on Monday with a 1-over 73, with a pair of bogeys on Nos. 15 and 18 offsetting a birdie on the par-4 eighth hole. Junior Max Lyons carded a 2-over 74, which included a pair of birdies on the back nine in addition to his third and final of the day on the par-5 sixth.

The Golden Eagles are two strokes ahead of Toledo entering Tuesday's final round and are paired with the Rockets and Furman. They are slated to begin the third round at 8:30 a.m. Central time with freshman Mason Schmidtke leading MU off the 10th hole. Lyons will head off No. 10 in the day's final grouping at 9:06 a.m. CT.

The Golden Eagles shot a 6-over 294 on Sunday, led by a 2-under 70 from graduate student Aidan Lafferty, who recorded three birdies on the back nine for his eighth round under par this season. MU was seventh heading into Monday's second round before posting a 15-over 303 on the day.
