Marquette hosts Butler Wednesday at noon CT
STORRS, Conn. – Marquette University women's lacrosse began BIG EAST play on Saturday at UConn with a 17-7 loss in Storrs.
The Golden Eagles (4-8, 0-1 BIG EAST) were led by Leigh Steiner, who had two goals and two assists on the day. Meg Bireley added two goals and has 48 on the season to lead the conference.
Marquette won 17 out of 27 draw controls led by Josie Kropp who had eight. CJ Meehan scored her 10th goal of the season in the fourth off a free position shot.
UConn (5-5, 1-1 BIG EAST) was led by Rayea Davis, who had five goals and five assists.
