Golden Eagles playing annual PanCan awareness game
MILWAUKEE - Marquette University women's lacrosse hosts Georgetown on Saturday, April 13 at Valley Fields. First draw is at 11 a.m. CT inside the dome.
The game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Scott Sudikoff (play-by-play) and Eric Simon (analyst) on the call.
Saturday will be the 14th meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Hoyas, with GU leading the series 9-4.
PANCAN AWARENESS GAME
• Saturday is Marquette women's lacrosse's annual PanCan Awareness Game. Help the team reach its goal by donating here.

STEINER BIG EAST MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
• Leigh Steiner was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, April 8. It was her fourth conference honor of the season.
• The senior midfielder had career-highs in points (9) and goals (8) in the 20-12 win over Butler on Wednesday. Nine points is the second most in a game by a BIG EAST player this season and eight goals tied the most goals in a game, shared with fellow Golden Eagle Meg Bireley.
• Steiner added a hat trick at Denver, her fifth game this season with 3-or-more goal. She totaled four ground balls and eight draw controls over the two games.
BIRELEY SIXTH IN THE NCAA IN GOALS
• Meg Bireley is sixth in the nation with 54 goals on the season.
• The junior attacker is 14th in the NCAA averaging 3.86 goals per contest and seventh averaging 8.71 shots per game.
• Bireley is five goals away from tying the program record for goals in a season (59) set by Lydia Foust (2023) and Grace Gabriel (2019).Â
MEG 3X BIG EAST ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
• Meg Bireley has been named BIG EAST Attacker of the Week three times this season to lead the conference.
• Bireley leads the BIG EAST in goals (54), goals per game (3.86), and shots per game (8.71).
JOSIE BIG EAST LEADER
• Josie Kropp is first in the BIG EAST and 10th in the nation at 8.14 draw controls per game.
• The junior midfielder is 10th in the nation with 114 draw controls, five away from tying the program's record for draw controls in a season (119) set by Grace Gabriel in 2019.
• Kropp had a single game record tying 17 draw controls at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
DRAW DOMINATION
• Marquette is ninth in the nation in draw controls per game (17.43) and 27th in draw control percentage (56.2 percent).
MU AMONG NATION'S BEST ON OFFENSE
• Marquette is 20th in the NCAA in shots per game (32.57) and 42nd in goals per game (13.07).
• The Golden Eagles are ninth in the nation in shots on goal per game (25.64).
