MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team dropped its home finale to Villanova, 12-6, on Saturday afternoon at Valley Fields.Â
Nolan Garcia led the Golden Eagles (4-9, 0-4 BIG EAST) with two goals, while Caleb Creasor recorded 13 saves on Senior Day as one of 19 players recognized before the game..
"It's been an honor to coach those guys," MU head coach Andrew Stimmel said of his players who played their final home game. "From our graduate students and our senior class, those guys went through COVID and a coaching change. Guys who are seniors now were taking visits over Zoom to try and figure out if this was a place for them or not. I'm grateful for them and all the work they put in. They left their mark and I'm sad that we couldn't send them out with a win today, but it doesn't change who they are and what they've done for us."
Â
The Wildcats (8-5, 2-2 BIG EAST) were led by two goals apiece from Matt Licaata, Colin Michener, Dan Martin, Nicholas Lucchesi.
