
Bireley Breaks Single Season Goals Record in Road Win at Xavier

Marquette hosts Villanova next Saturday for Senior Day
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Marquette University women's lacrosse dominated Xavier on the road, 21-4, on Saturday at Corcoran Field in Cincinnati.
The Golden Eagles (6-10, 2-3 BIG EAST) were led by Meg Bireley, who had six goals and one assist and became the first player in program history to score 60-or-more goals in a season. The junior attacker broke the program record for goals in a season and has 63 on the year.
The previous record, 59, was set by Lydia Foust in 2023 and Grace Gabriel in 2019. Bireley also broke the program record for shots on goal in a season with 104. Preview record was 101 by Lydia Foust in 2023.
Hannah Greving tallied her 100th career point after a two goal and three assist outing.
Isabelle Casucci had her second hat trick of the season and third of her career. Tess Osburn scored four goals and added one assist for a season-high five points.
Marquette dominated the draw, winning 19 out of 26. Josie Kropp led the way with eight and Leigh Steiner added four of her own with two goals.
CJ Meehan had a career-high tying two assists and had one goal.
Mikayla Yang earned her first career win and had three saves. Marquette let in four goals, the fewest goals allowed since a 26-4 win over Detroit Mercy on March 5, 2023.
Xavier (4-11, 0-5 BIG EAST) was led by Dylan Holloran who had two goals.
