
WLAX Travels to Cincinnati on Thursday Afternoon

Golden Eagles and Bearcats have played every year since MU’s first season in 2013
The Marquette University women's lacrosse travels to Cincinnati on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. CT to take on the Bearcats at Nippert Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with live stats accessible on GoMarquette.com.
Marquette and Cincinnati have met 13 times with the Golden Eagles leading the series, 9-3. Cincinnati is MU's most commonly played non-conference opponent with the two facing each other every season since MU's inagural season in 2013.
The Golden Eagles took last season's meeting over the Bearcats 18-12 in MU's season opener at Valley Fields on Feb. 11, 2024. Meg Bireley had a then career-high seven goals on 12 shots. Tess Osburn added four goals.
Marquette is coming off a 13-10 win over Louisville in its home opener on Monday. Meg Bireley had five goals and broke her own program records in shots (17) and shots on goal (13). Tess Osburn recorded her second hat trick this season. Hanna Bodner had a career-high five points with one goal and a career-high four assists.
It was the third win against Louisville in program history in 12 meetings. The Golden Eagles had 14 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls, both season highs.
Following Thursday's game, MU travels to Michigan to take on the Wolverines on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. CT.
