Koby McEwen is the Baird Student-Athlete of the Month

McEwen has played a big role in advocating for social justice reform
MILWAUKEE -Â Rising redshirt senior men's basketball player Koby McEwen is the Baird Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for the June and July, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff.Â
He has peacefully marched in Milwaukee and is leading and organizing the team in the fight against police brutality and for racial justice and equality. He has taken to social media to initiate and further conversations around topics pertaining to race and social justice. He has opened up to many about his personal experiences with racism and prejudice and has been willing to engage in tough conversations with his peers.
McEwen is a returning starter who averaged 9.5 points and 3.2 assists per game during the 2019-20 campaign, his first with the Golden Eagles.
