WTEN Opens Dual Season With Pair of Matches

Golden Eagles fall to Drake & Iowa
The Marquette University women's tennis team (0-2) opened the dual portion of its 2021-22 campaign this past weekend with a pair of matches in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Golden Eagles dropped their dual opener 7-0 to Drake on Saturday night, before falling 6-1 at Iowa on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Sarah Badawi was the lone MU player to pickup a singles win, downing Iowa's Samantha Gilles 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 5 position.
The shorthanded Golden Eagles were forced to default at No. 6 in both matches on the weekend.
UP NEXT: Marquette hosts Chicago State on Friday night in its home opener at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
