'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete: Elisabeth Desmarais

MILWAUKEE - Women's tennis player Elisabeth Desmarais is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2022, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff.
Desmarais graduated with honors in May 2022 from the College of Business Administration, with a double major in finance, and operations & supply chain management. She is currently in the Graduate School of Management, pursuing her MBA, while playing her fifth season at MU.
During her undergraduate career, Desmarais was a member of AIM – the Applied Investment Management program. The AIM program allows a select group of finance majors to get hands-on academic and financial analysis experience, including an opportunity to actively manage domestic and international equity and fixed-income portfolios. Students apply to the AIM program near the end of their sophomore year and 12-15 students are selected each year for the two-year commitment.
She was in the finance track in the AIM program, focusing on asset management. Her experience in AIM included being on the team responsible for investing and managing a portfolio of over $3 million of Marquette University's endowment across fixed income and equity securities.
Desmarais is involved in SAAC and LEAD, and in the Women in Business organization in the College of Business. She is also a peer tutor through Intercollegiate Athletics, and works part-time at the front desk of the Al McGuire Center and the APHRC.
