WLAX Defeats Louisville 13-10 in Home Opener Monday Afternoon

Marquette travels to Cincinnati Thursday
The Marquette University women's lacrosse team earned a 13-10 win over Louisville in its 2025 home opener to move to 2-0 on the season on Monday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles (2-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) were led by Meg Bireley, who had five goals while breaking her own program records in shots with 17 and shots on goal with 13.
Tess Osburn recorded her second hat trick this season. Hanna Bodner had a career-high five points with one goal and a career-high four assists.
Marquette went into the break up one, 7-6. The Golden Eagles dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 5-2 in the final frame to pull out the win.
The Golden Eagles had 10 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls.
Brynna Nixon earned the win and had eight saves.
Louisville (2-2, 0-0 ACC) was led by Ella Berg, who had three goals and one assist.
