
'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete of May: Alex Mirsberger

Mirsberger helped the men's soccer program to the NCAA Round of 16
MILWAUKEE - Junior men's soccer player Alex Mirsberger is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2021, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff. Â
Mirsberger is junior in the College of Business, majoring in accounting and finance. He is a Dean's List student in the College of Business, also earning BIG EAST All-Academic recognition, A.D. Honor Roll, and a is member of Chi Alpha Sigma (national honor society for collegiate athletes). Alex has worked in the MU Athletics Department as a ticket representative. He worked for Amazon in inventory control over the summer, as online ordering increased each week during the pandemic.
He is a SAAC representative for the men's soccer team, and helps coordinate his team participation in SAAC-led events and programs. Mirsberger also was a member of the Marquette Athletics service trip to Puerto Rico, repairing homes there after hurricane damage.
During the 2020-21 season, Mirsberger helped the men's soccer program to its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2013 and a trip to the round of 16 while leading the team in minutes played. He posted one goal and two assists on the season on his way to All-BIG EAST Second Team honors and a spot on the league's all-tournament team.
