
Track & Field Prepares for West Coast Swing

Marquette will compete in three meets in California starting on Apr. 13
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field team travels out west to compete in a trio of California meets.
The Golden Eagles will kick off the west coast swing with the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the campus of Mount San Antonio College. Senior Megan Wallace will be making the trip to compete in the heptathlon. Day one of competition will begin Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 1 p.m. CT. Events will conclude on Thursday beginning at 2 p.m. CT. The remainder of the travel party will be competing on Thursday, Apr. 14 and Friday, Apr. 15 in the Mt. Sac Relays, Bryan Clay Invite And Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The Bryan Clay Invite Will be hosted by Azusa Pacific University at Cougar Athletic Stadium. The Pacific Coast Intercollegiate is hosted by Long Beach State at Jack Rose Stadium.
Other members of the team will compete closer to home at Wisconsin Lutheran's Warrior Invitational on Thursday, Apr. 14. Competition will being at Raabe Stadium at 10 a.m. CT. Live results can be found here.
LAST TIME OUT
MU is coming off its home victory at the Marquette Invitational this past weekend. The Marquette men won with a score of 173 and the women with a score of 259. 25 departing seniors were honored at the conclusion of their final home meet.
- Eleven Golden Eagles found gold this past weekend in their respective events.
- Megan Wallace won the javelin and posted the No. 3 throw in program history with a mark of 40.06 meters/131 feet, 5 inches. Wallace also took second place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.84.
- Sophomore Mia Ketelhohn took first in the discus with a throw of 37.60 meters/123 feet, 4 inches. Ketelhohn received runner-up honors in the javelin with a PR of 38.70 meters/127 feet and the No. 6 mark in MU history. She also recorded a PR in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.39 meters/139 feet, 1 inch.
- Throwers Allie Flando (hammer throw) and Lizzy Cagle (shot put) joined Ketelhohn in the winner's circle by taking first in the other two throwing events. Flando and Cagle both achieved PRs in the hammer throw with marks of 51.44 meters/168 feet, 9 inches and 51.08 meters/167 feet, 7 inches, respectively.
- Mitchell Van Vooren finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.31. His time currently ranks second in the BIG EAST. Van Vooren was also a part of the 4x400 relay team that took first with a time of 3:31.24.
- Junior Vinnie Voudrie was victorious in both the discus and hammer throw with marks of 43.54 meters/142 feet, 10 inches and 52.02 meters/170, 8 inches, respectively.
