MILWAUKEE - Women's basketball player Jordan King is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2023, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff. Â
King is a graduate student pursuing her master's in school counseling after completing her undergraduate degree in psychology, graduating with honors. She earned Dean's List, AD Honor Roll, BIG EAST All-Academic Team awards, and was inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma (honor society for collegiate athletes) during her undergrad years.
Her graduate studies have included internship/practicum rotations at two different West Allis, Wisconsin public elementary schools, providing counseling services to students kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, she has been involved in SAAC (student athlete advisory committee), and collaborated with the Black Student Council to plan campus events. She has also volunteered with Miracle League, the Ronald McDonald House, Hunger Task Force, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She will complete her master's degree in May 2024, and sit for her licensing exam in spring 2024.
King was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection during the 2022-23 campaign after averaging 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She led the Golden Eagles in minutes played, three-point percentage, points, assists and steals per game.
