Junior track & field student-athlete is physiological sciences major
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University track & field student-athlete Danny Olsen is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for June and July, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Programs staff.
Olsen is a junior physiological sciences major with minors in chemistry and economics. He was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team after the 2023-24 season and has earned a spot on the AD Honor Roll every semester at Marquette. Olsen has been involved with the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and Feeding America.
The Evergreen Park, Illinois native became the first Golden Eagle to win gold in the men's outdoor 400-meter dash with a program record 46.21-second race on Saturday of the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. Olsen made his first NCAA appearance in May, finishing 25th in the outdoor 400 at the NCAA West First Round in College Station, Texas.
