'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete: Samantha Galvin

Galvin is a senior nursing major on the women's lacrosse team
MILWAUKEE - Women's lacrosse player Samantha Galvin is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for May, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff. Â
Galvin is a May graduate who will earn a bachelor's degree in nursing with a cumulative 4.0 GPA. She has received BIG EAST All-Academic, Dean's List, and Athletics Director's Honor Roll recognition every year, and has been inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national honor society for collegiate student-athletes. Galvin was in the MAGIS mentor program, and served on the leadership council for women's lacrosse team this season.
She has volunteered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma society, wheelchair lacrosse, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and participated in fundraisers for Down's Syndrome. Galvin is also a certified vision screener for Prevent Blindness Wisconsin. After graduation, Sammy will join Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. as a registered nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Galvin played in all 17 games in 2024 and contributed three goals and three assists in five starts. She ended her career with 11 goals and six assists while appearing in 54 games.
