'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete: Devon Cowan

Cowan graduated in May and is one of the most prolific point producers in MU history
MILWAUKEE - Men's lacrosse player Devon Cowan is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2023, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff.
Cowan is a three-time All-BIG EAST selection, a two-time team captain one of the most accomplished offensive contributors in program history.
He completed his undergraduate degree in advertising and marketing (minor) in May 2023, graduating magna cum laude with a 3.73 cumulative grade point average, and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in leadership from Marquette's College of Business. Cowan earned BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and Dean's List honors each semester at Marquette and has been inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma (honor society for collegiate athletes).
Cowan has participated in LEAD programming, developing leadership skills then leading peers, and has been instrumental in leading and rebranding AFA, the faith-based mission-driven organization for student athletes, focused on exploring and deepening their faith lives. He has coached Challenger Basketball youth teams for children with physical disabilities, worked with organizations to introduce lacrosse to central-city youths, and has worked with the Milwaukee Eagles wheelchair lacrosse team.
He has held internships with commercial real estate companies, and has worked as a ranch-hand to better understand land management, land use and conservation.
The Mount Laurel, New Jersey native became the fourth player in Marquette history to reach 100 career points and his 114 career points rank third all-time at MU behind Ryan McNamara (152) and Conor Gately (140). He also ranks third all-time at MU in goals (86), fourth in game winners and seventh in assists.
He scored 26 goals in 2023 and added four assists for the second 30-point season of his career.
