Foust is among the leading scorers for the women's lacrosse team
MILWAUKEE - Women's lacrosse player Lydia Foust is the Baird Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2022, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff.
Foust will complete her undergraduate bachelor's of science degree in construction engineering later this month with honors, and her master's in construction engineering in 2023. She has earned Dean's List, BIG EAST All-Academic Team, and Athletic Director's Honor Roll each semester, and Chi Alpha Sigma (national student-athlete honor society) recognition. She has been involved in the MAGIS Mentor program, matched with a new freshman and providing guidance in balancing school and sport.
Most recently, Foust received the William D. Bliss Award for Outstanding Co-op Student, from the College of Engineering. The award is conferred upon senior-level students who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the cooperative education program, as evidenced by leadership potential, dedication to excellence, and commitment to lifelong learning. The award recipients are chosen by the Industry Relations office after reviewing nominations from employers of co-op students. She was a co-op student and field intern in the past two summers at ARCO Design in Atlanta. In the classroom, Foust led a semester-long research project on gender-inequality within the construction industry, furthering her commitment to impacting the construction engineering profession.
She was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection in 2021 and has posted at least 25 goals in each of the last three seasons as a midfielder. Foust ranks third on the Golden Eagles in both goals (37) and points (55) this season and is on the precipice of becoming only the seventh player in program history to reach 100 career goals.
