
'Blue & Gold' Student-Athlete: Harry Baker

Baker is a graduate student on the men's track & field team
MILWAUKEE - Men's high jumper Harry Baker is the Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for March 2023, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff. Â
Baker graduated magna cum laude in May 2023 with his undergraduate degree in communications studies and is currently earning his master of arts in communication and media studies. Additionally, Baker is a research and Innovation graduate assistant in the College of Communications, responsible for website and social media as well as writing formal copy for the research department.
He also works in Athletics as a student worker for facilities & event management, responsible for set-up, breakdown, and safety during events. He has earned mention on the Dean's List, Athletics Director's Honor Roll, and the BIG EAST All-Acamdemic Teamevery semester at Marquette. He has participated in campus clean-up initiatives, particularly along the Hank Aaron Trail surrounding the track facility in the Menomonee Valley.
Baker is from Pulborough in West Sussex, England, and has also been a volunteer with Marquette's International Student orientation. His sister plays basketball in the U.S. at Minot State in North Dakota and he played in a British Basketball League before coming to college in the states.
Baker owns a collegiate best of 6-feet, 8-inches in the outdoor high jump and has been a point scorer for the MU men at every conference meet, indoor and outdoor, in which he has participated.
