MU begins weekend competition Friday, April 1
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams begin the 2022 outdoor campaign this weekend with a pair of meets. MU will send members of its distance team to St. Louis to compete in the Washington University Distance Carnival on Friday, April 1. The remainder of the squad will head to Illinois State on Friday and Saturday (April 1-2) for the Redbird Invite.
The Distance Carnival at Washington University will be held at the historic Francis Olympic Field. Events will begin at 1:15 p.m. CT with the first section of the women's 10K. Live results of all the day's events can be found here.
The Golden Eagles return to the Redbird Invite for the second year in a row. Last season the women took second and the men fourth. Events get started in Normal on Friday at 2:00 p.m. CT with the men's and women's hammer throw. The rest of the events will take place Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. with the throwing events. Running events will follow at noon starting with the men's and women's 100-meter prelims.Live results can be found here.
LAST TIME OUT:
The big team kicks off their season this week, but last week junior Kendall Pfrimmer began her outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State. Pfrimmer ran a 37-second PR in the 10K with a time of 34:54.12. Her time ranks as the third-best time in Marquette history and currently ranks 35th nationally.

Next week, The Golden Eagles will return home to host the Marquette Invitational at Wisconsin Lutheran's Raabe Stadium on Friday, April 8.
